Integrated Beekeeping Development Center, Manipur (IBDC) is established under Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board with the aim to encourage, organize, developed and regulate beekeeping and honey production in Manipur. The IBDC, Manipur is established under the National Bee Board which is a registered society under the Societies Regulation Act, 1860, established in 2000 and reconstituted in June 2006, operating under the Department of Agriculture, Corporation & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, with the Headquarters in New Delhi. The NBB promotes scientific beekeeping to enhance crop production through pollination and increase honey production for the benefit of beekeepers and farmers. It was initially formed under the Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) to advance beekeeping practices in India.
VISION
Sustainable development of Scientific Beekeeping in Manipur. Facilitate Creation of employment opportunities for beekeepers and unemployed youths of Manipur. Aim to increase crop production through increase pollination and enhance honey production, ultimately increasing the income of beekeepers and farmers.
